The NBA announced on Monday that Hawks guard DeJounte Murray will serve a 1 game suspension for making contact and “verbally abusing” a game official after the Hawks 129-121 loss to the Boston Celtics on Sunday.
The incident happened after the game and was caught by a fan video and it didn’t take long to make the rounds on social media. By the end of the night the league released a statement saying that they were “looking into the issue.”
This afternoon around 5pm Eastern it was reported by Marc Spears that the league suspended Murray and that the Hawks will take on the Celtics without their starting shooting guard for game 5. Hawks Coach Quinn Snyder spoke with local media shortly after the breaking news to answer questions about suspension.
