Hawks agree in Principle with Nate McMillan to become full time Head Coach

The Atlanta Hawks have agreed in principle to remove the interim label from Nate McMillan and make him the next Head Coach of the Atlanta Hawks. Team President and General Manager Travis Schlenk met with the media today to confirm the aggrement with McMillan and said that a deal was in place and just a few details need to be finalized.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski later added that a deal that is in place is likely to be a 4 year deal.

Nate McMillan took over the Hawks job as the interim Head Coach on March 1st and led the team to a 27-11 record. He was named the Eastern Conference Coach of the month for March and finished 5th in the Coach of the Year voting. The Hawks had a great run during his tenure and finished the season 2 wins short of making it to the NBA Finals.
