Trae’s Young’s Between the Legs Wrap Around Pass and A Weekend Wrap for the Atlanta Hawks (Video)

The Hawks resumed post all-star action on the Friday night as they took on the Detroit Pistons. Despite a 30 point night from Trae Young the Hawks were gut punched when Thon Maker buried a 3-pointer with 16.4 seconds left. The Hawks were unable to answer but it was a good sign to see this team still competing even though they don’t have much to play for. Credit Coach Pierce and his staff for that as well as the veteran leadership in that locker room.

If you have been living under a rock and haven’t seen the double wrap around pass by Trae young you need to check it out. Trae and Dedmon are working a pick and roll and as he’s driving to the basket Trae dribbles between his legs and causes Bruce Brown to get completely turned around. Trae then drops the ball off to Dedmon for the easy dunk.

You won’t be able to watch this play just once.

On the Saturday night the Hawks welcomed the Phoenix Suns into State Farm arena and tried to get the nasty taste of defeat out of their system from the night before. Although the Suns only have 11 wins on the season, they proved to be a formidable team. The Hawks needed a 34 point 4th quarter to break away and took care of the Suns 120-112.

It was a balance night of scoring for the Hawks as all 5 starters finished in double figures. Young and Bazemore led the Hawks with 23 points a piece but the storyline of the night was the job the Hawks did defensively on Devin Booker.

The trio of Taurean Prince, DeAndre Bembry and Kent Bazemore all took turns on Booker and even though he finished with 26 points it took him 23 shots to get there. Here is recap of the game from the your friends here at The Hawksbeat.
