Hawks Can’t Keep Pace With Indiana

Hawks ended a 3 game win streak last night when the Indiana Pacers came into town, shot lights out en route to a 129-121 victory.

The Hawks jumped out to a 12-2 lead to begin the game and it was good to see the Hawks starters come out with good energy and not fall behind by 10 points, 6 minutes into the game. The first two quarters really went by slow and the pace the game was a lot of stop and go.

Crazy thing about this game was how well the Hawks shot the ball. If I were to tell you these next three items were true, you couldn’t convince me the Hawks would be losers and not winners of the ballgame.

  • Kent Bazemore shooting 14-25 and going for 32 pts
  • Hawks as a team shooting 50% from the field and 47% from 3.
  • Hawks tally 33 assist and Trae Young gives you 17 and 9

The crazy thing about the game was that no matter how well the Hawks shot the ball the Pacers were always 3 – 5% better.

“They punished us for every mistake, we had 20 turnovers and they had 24 points off that.” – Coach Pierce

Even though this game didn’t come out the way the Hawks wanted the players were very positive and upbeat after the game. Everybody to a man knows they played well enough to win but sometimes in the NBA very good won’t get it done when greatness is required.
